This summer, for a cool change, hit The Beach – a joyous monochromatic installation of 1.1 million recyclable polyethylene balls that make an ocean without sharks, gently lapping against a 60-metre wide shoreline free of sand. Come and take a dip.

A quintessential Australian experience is reimagined by Snarkitecture, a New York-based art and architecture collaborative practice.

Take a dip or bliss out in a beach chair and literally submerge yourself in art. Whether you’re young or just young-at-heart, the best alternative beach ever created in Australia is guaranteed to put a smile on your dial.

There are three different way you can experience The Beach. Everyone will get free access between 10am and 5pm, but if you wish to avoid the lines and guarantee your spot, then perhaps try one of the ticketed sessions. Each morning we have an all-ages ticket session from 9am-10am. Tickets are only valid for stated session time. For those that wish to experience The Beach at night without the kids, then grab a ticket to the 18+ only sessions on Friday and Saturday evenings. These sessions have a limited duration of 90 minutes.

Time for last entry to The Beach will vary each day according to the number of people in line. On a quieter day it could be around 3.30pm, however on busier days (especially weekends), this could be as early as 2pm. Please check back for updates.
