From the late 1860s circus performers travelled throughout Australia entertaining the public with acrobatics, clowning, riding, lassoing, magic and animal performances. The Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (MAAS) has a rich and diverse collection of circus history and this small display features items from two important circus families, the Wirths and Jandaschewskys.
