Wafia has already packed out the Tiny Dancer stage at Splendour In The Grass and performed at the Sydney Opera House – just a few short years after the Brisbane-based singer-songwriter ditched her pre-med studies to pursue another kind of healing. Her breakout hit “Heartburn”, alongside team-ups with Vancouver Sleep Clinic and acclaimed producers Ta-ku and Japanese Wallpaper, have helped carve a niche for herself as one of the most distinctive voices in the crowded field of rising local R&B stars.
Wafia’s lush vocal style and songwriting draws on her Arab heritage as well as the increasingly unique sound of the Australian electronic scene. For this special intimate appearance, she’ll strip away the slinky beats and electronic tweaks for an acoustic set with piano that lets her luminous voice take centre stage.
Make a night of it with a Festival Feast meal for $55 per person at China Lane, Mercado or Steel Bar and Grill.
